It may not be an imbalance but rather a temporary flat spot.  With some tyres, if the car has sat for a long time, the tyre may take a set which works itself out after a few miles of running. ------------------------------ William Barry Retired Galway ------------------------------

Jon, I'm no tire expert, but a couple of experiance notes. First look around the rim. You may have actually lost a wheel weight and there may be a visible clean spot where it was. OR I had a similar experience with a tire that had "slipped" a belt. It would not vibrate as much at some higher speeds ...

I'm thinking that one, (or both),  of the front  tires simply had a flat spot from sitting  for awhile.   Perhaps it was parked after a trip that heated  the tires , then   parked  for a longer period than usual. Vibrations disappear as the tires warm and centrifugal forces tend to make the tire round ...

Also, some tires have experienced chord separation resulting in a temporary imbalance that may be heat (from ...

I will post the result here. The tires are on a 2014 BMW X3 245/50 R18 100V. Not the run flat ones. Cold pressure ...

Ah yes, Mt Ackerman.  GM decided to ignore him a long time ago and that it was perfectly fine to scrub rubber off of front tires every time you make a turn.   During turns, proper Ackerman requires the inboard wheel to turn at a sharper angle than the outboard to avoid sideways tire scrub because ...

Many non high speed tires for SUVs have nylon cap plies over the steel belts as a safety feature, not a high speed feature. Those can also flat spot. One other point to make about flat spotting, is all 4 tires do it, and the lumps are in or out of sync to various degrees as one drives around corners. ...
